Fraud Awareness

Fraud Awareness

Through heightened attention of Fraud Awareness Month, the trained staff of Commercial Crime and Fraud Sections with RCMP “F” Division, Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service and the Saskatchewan Financial Services Commission will be able to share their knowledge and inform the general public.  Education on fraudulent activities will help prevent consumers from becoming “victims.”

The Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre

If you believe you have been an actual victim who has suffered a loss of; personal information, identification or cash you are advised to report this to your local police service.
If you believe that you may have been targeted for a scam, but have suffered no loss, you may still want to report it to your local police service, but you may also take advantage of reporting it on-line to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.  The Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre tracks scams reported to it and from that is able to publish information on how best to protect yourself or your assets.
This centralized reporting helps to allow local and national authorities and government to more fully understand the scope and nature of on-line scams and frauds and the effects they have on both Canadian citizens and the Canadian economy.
To make an on-line report to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre access their website via www.antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca
