Public Education
Sergeant Jerome Engele has demonstrated excellence in his policing through his development of numerous community relationships aimed at promoting education on drug-awareness, prevention and harm reduction.
Sergeant Engele’s commitment to public education, various groups and agencies on drug-related matters has led him to assist in the development, implementation of drug awareness strategies, educational presentations and programming. Sergeant Engele’s development of the Drug Awareness Diversion Program has proven to be successful in informing parents and youth of the negative impact of drugs.
The work and dedication of Sergeant Engele has been recognized by outside
agencies as well as within the Saskatoon Police Service. The Saskatchewan
Association of Chiefs of Police would like to commend Sergeant Engele for his
work in educating the public on drug related issues by awarding him with the
Excellence in Policing Services Award for 2006 in the category of Public Education.
